I'll stamp all over 'legitimate boxer' Paul - Joshua

Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul face-off

Anthony Joshua will face Jake Paul in an eight round contest which will be streamed live on Netflix.

Briton Anthony Joshua said he will "overwhelm entirely" Jake Paul and "defeat" the American as the pair confronted each other to build hype for next month's bout.

Ex two time unified boxing king Anthony Joshua battles YouTuber-turned-boxer Paul - in what is, on paper, a mammoth uneven pairing - at Miami venue on 19 December.

Fighter's Mindset

"I plan to break his face and hurt his body. I'm here to prove I'm the better fighter," the British boxer, 35, said.

"I plan to overwhelm him. That's how fighters think.

"I'm going to seriously aim to hurt him. That's what I want to do."

Respectful Interaction

Despite these statements, a calm Anthony Joshua and internet personality Jake Paul - typically famous for his theatrics - shared friendly words and remained civil with each other.

Paul rather targeted former Joshua's rival the Cameroonian fighter and labeled him "not serious" after the Cameroonian rejected a fight offer.

Taking Aim at Tyson Fury

Anthony Joshua, at the same time, targeted British opponent Fury - and refused a £1m bet 'The Gypsy King' claims he will make on a Paul win.

"[Paul] is better than Tyson Fury - he's actually sitting here," Joshua stated.

"I give him credit for that."

Serious Fighter

Despite declaring he will punish Paul, Joshua declined to speak negatively about his rival's boxing ability.

"Jake Paul is a legitimate boxer," he remarked.

Paul's Background

Jake Paul - who first rose to fame on the television network - has mostly boxed MMA fighters or faded names since entering professional boxing.

He lost to Briton Fury in last year.

Commercial Success

Still, the novice is still one of boxing's largest financial successes, regularly earning huge financial rewards.

Forecast and Belief

The 28 year old predicted a stoppage in round four or five and stated he would prevent the highly-expected Joshua–Fury fight, which is reportedly in the works for 2026.

"The next fight will be myself against Tyson Fury in the coming year," Jake Paul said.

Size Disparity

As Joshua and Paul engaged in the usual confrontation, with their size difference on show, it drove home just how improbable this entire matchup is - and how remarkable it is that the bout is truly happening.
